hi can i put 9, 40w or 50w 240v down lights in my kitchen on one circuit at the moment the total of watts on the down stair circuit is 590w can i add the 450watts to this? thanks :? :arrow: :? :?

In theory this may be OK. But in practice you will be likely to have problems you really need to split them onto a number of switches so they don't all go on together even if only one second between them. Most lighting supplies have 6 amps which is 1380 watt some times 5 amp thats 1150 watt so they would run but on start they use more current so not the way I would wire.
