Loft converstion whta to start first?floor or roof

Hi
i am about to start my loft converstion and wanted to know if i first need lay the rsj on the floor and only then open the roof and fix the rsj to the roof
or maybe i should open up the roof and then put all the rsj at once

If you need to ask such a question then ask yourself do you need to get a professional in.

You will need a structural surveyor to work out the new joist requirements, party wall issues etc.

Oh and don't forget to inform your local buiding inspectors as it needs to pass all the required regs - a certificate is then issued when the work is finished - mine took 5 years from start to finish mainly down to me being slow - I got a pro in to do all the structure then finished it of myself with the help of a plasterer.
