loose tap cover

by stronach » Wed Jul 09, 2008 5:49 pm

I have a bathroom hot tap with a sort of domed cover. It is 13 years old, the top, or whatever it is connected to underneath is loose. I cannot see how to remove it. Can anybody assist please. Thanks.

Apologies if you've tried this, but you should simply be able to pop off the top of the tap with a thin headed screwdriver. This should expose a screw holding the tap handle onto the body. Undo this and you should be able to get in.

Normal ways to remove tap heads.

The caps with the letters C or H or Red or Blue covers pop off with a screwdriver and normally reveal a screw which can be undone and the tap handle/housing removed.

Older styles - the same as above but this only removes the tap handle then you can unscrew the dome that sits over the spindle by hand (or grips over a cloth).

hope this helps
