Main light in living room is 'pulsing'.

by meldrew21 » Mon Oct 27, 2008 10:21 pm

Hi guys, we don't use our main centre light in living room often. When I switched it on recently it was pulsing. Is this a common fault?

Thanks in advance

Only with dimmer switches. Sometimes the coiled coil of the bulb causes the dimmer to malfunction changing make of bulb normal cures it.

Thanks for replying, Eric. I've tried a couple of different makes and type of bulb but get the same problem. I'll continue to swap some bulbs around tomorrow to see if it stops.

In the meantime I'd like to ask ...is it possible that the dimmer is playing up? I'd be happy to replace it if that fixes the problem.
