Make safe unused electric cables.
I need to remove an electrical socket. What is the best way to secure the remaining wires to make them safe?
Re: Make safe unused electric cables.
In the main the answer is remove them. Failing that connect them to earth. Once the socket is removed there is no way to show there are wires so in the main they must be made dead. It is common to just disconnect them and leave them in place although it can cause problems later proving dead.
The big problem is with final rings which must not be broken. Often floor boards need removing and a special maintenance free JB used.
