Mid Height Stud Wall

by gobezza » Wed Jul 16, 2008 7:09 pm

I'm looking to construct a Mid Height Stud Wall approx 1200mm high, 2400 mm long to split a room into half.

It will only be fastened the floor and the wall on one side and probably be approx 8-10 inches wide.

I want to hang a 42in plasma on it.

I'm concerned that it's not going to be strong enough and because it will only be fixed on two sides it may wobble and flex.

I thought about a frame made out of 8 x 2 with a ply inner for the TV plaster boarded then skimmed. Then I thought about building the frame and covering with MDF for rigidity.

Any thoughts, what would be the best way and how to anchor solidly to the floor and breeze block wall?????
