by hmj » Tue Nov 13, 2007 6:36 pm

Help please, Have mislaid a key for a 15 year old ducal wardrobe, any suggestions on how to get it open and what to use as a key for the future?

Hi. Wardrobe locks are really easy to pick. If you get an old one and dismantle it you'll see the mehcanism, be able to figure out the principle, and then open yours.

Failing that you can probably get in thru the back. The back will run in two grooves cut into the sides. Ducal is quite a good make so the back will probably be stapled in. Remove the staples, slide the back up, climb in and open it from the inside.

(Don't forget to take a torch, some rations and a mobile phone. The last thing you want is for the coroner to say ... "We will never know what drove Mr. Hjm to lock himself in a wardrobe....")

Good luck
