MISSING pointing below DPF

Post by DUDE DIY » Tue Jul 10, 2007 4:51 pm

Hey, any advice or possible suggestions are very welcome on my question. Ive just moved into a house which has a second DPF injected into the walls, above the original DPC. I believe this has been done becasue a brickwork drive has been laid and the DPC needing raising to account for this. However directly at ground level where the brick work drive has been laid, and where it meets the bricks of the house the pointing on the house bricks around just about all of the exterior of the house is either missing or crumbling away. Has anyone ever came across anything like this before?.....should it be a major cause for concern?...and will simply repoining these bricks correct any possible future problems. Before purchasing the property I had an extensive survey done and it wasnt highlighted on the survey. Any advice, suggestions and comments are welcome. Thanks for your time. Take a look at any one of our damp projects and ring the phone number for Property Repair Systems. They give free, no obligation advice and we recommend them. They will tell you what you need to do (if anything) and will also be able to supply you with anything you need to do it with but will certainly not try to sell you anything you don't need
