Mitre Saw for Cutting Bricks With a Diamond Blade

Post by Dwidge » Sun Jul 19, 2015 10:14 am

Can anyone recommend a saw which will take a diamond blade and be suitable for cutting and mitring fire bricks? Needs to cut about 3 inches deep.

Hi

You will need to use a 9 inch (230mm) angle grinder with your diamond blade, such as these ones here: https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/DIY-superst ... -disc.html

The best way to go is construct a jig for your grinder from timber and set it at the exact angle you need. You can buy angle grinder stands but I’m not sure they do stands for mitreing, although you could buy one and adapt it, such as this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wolfcraft-50190 ... B000P3DX6K

It is possible to buy concrete/block mitre saws but they are hugely expensive.

Hope this helps

Hi was having problems cutting bricks for my bay window 45° angles. I went to facing-bricks.co.uk and they sorted it. collected bricks from my house, cut and bonded them and delivered them back. a lot easier than doing it myself.
