Mixer Shower - Temp. Dropping

by ChrisJohn » Tue Nov 25, 2008 2:40 pm

I've had a mixer shower running from Combi Boiler for 5 years. It had been working fine but recently I've been having to turn the tap round to the hottest setting to get a hot shower.

Is this a fixable problem or is it time to replace with a new shower ?

Thanks.

It is possible the inline filters are becoming blocked and restricting the flow of hot water. You haven't said what shower it is so cannot comment further.

The brand is Mira. I don't see the exact model on the Mira web site but I guess the models have changed over the last 5 years. To the best of my knowledge it's the standard chrome mixer shower. The temp. control is a large round tap. It looks similar to the Mira excel model.

Good showers Mira, and you can get spares.

Download the installation instructions which will explain how to check the filters for debris. If they are clear, the most likely fault is the thermostatic cartridge is failing. This is a replaceable item.
