    New Build Planning Permission Abroad

    Postby gonzo39 » Fri Jun 03, 2011 1:39 pm

Me and my partner are looking in to the idea of moving over to sunny Cyprus and building our own home. Now I understand that in this country you need to get new build planning orders and your designs need to meet certain criteria. But does anyone know if the rules and regs are the same over there as they are here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You need to be very careful when dealing with officers and lawyers in Cyprus, Turkey and Greece. I have friend who have had bitter experience. People over there like to over-complicate things in order to ask for money, which of course they will keep for themselves, and you can end up unable to get a permission because it is a conservation area.
