New Light Fitting for Switched Live - Hopefully an Easy One!

Post by foxlj » Sat Nov 01, 2014 9:03 pm

I've bought a new lighting fixture - I understand we have a 'switched live' connection going up but can anyone please point me to a diagram with exactly how this should be connected - see attached pics of existing wiring and new fitting. Thanks!

The ceiling picture is rather poor but from what I can see.
1) All green yellow connect together
2) Reds stay as they are non connect to lamp.
3) Two blacks which are neutral go to one white.
4) Remaining black to other white.
One black should have a red sleeve on it but often these fall off. It is important not to get the blacks mixed up.

I have described how it works with a standard British wiring clearly people don't have to follow the standard system. It would have been better to take the picture before the ceiling rose was removed.
