New shower taps help!!!

I have just taken off the old old taps and replaced them with 1/4 turn taps however when i turn the main water back on the shower runs with the taps off. Am i missing something??

Turn the tap lever ao as to turn the water off, then undo the head of the tap and move it round a 1/4 of a turn and re-fit and secure it ... :-)
