No hot water unless the heating is on

by da644 » Sun Apr 19, 2009 7:31 pm

Hi All,

We have a gas central heating with a hot water tank and if the heating does come on we no longer have an hot water in the tank. My suspicion is that the thermostat on the hot water tank has gone wrong and is not telling the control unit that hot water is required. Do you think this sounds right?

Kind regards,

Andrew.

Without any information, it would simply be a guess.

What sort of information do you need?

Andrew.

Describe the system. Do you have motorised valves? If so, two port or three? What type of controller is used? Is it a fully pumped system or is the hot water gravity fed?

Would you say it was a "S" play or Y" plan? Google Honeywell Sundial plans for photos and diagrams.

Hi plumbbob,

I think if I know you answers to your question I would be a plumber and already know the answer to my own question, as such I'm not and have no idea what the answer to any of your questions are. I will just call a plumber it will easier!!!

Thanks anyway.

Andrew.
