No water pressure from new Mira Atom Thermostatic Mixer shower

by lolleivesley » Sat Mar 19, 2016 7:19 pm

We have just had a new bathroom fitted and there is no water at all coming out of our shower, (Mira Atom Thermostatic Mixer). We have been told that we need an electric pump to correct this.
Can anyone give me an idea what type of pump we would need and a rough idea of installation cost from a plumber? We have a cold water tank in the loft and hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard.
The shower has a large 20cm head so would it need a larger bar number pump ie 3 bar?
Thanks!

lets have a look

the retailer will advise you on which pump, but there's more work than just fitting a pump unless you have already altered the pipe work, you will need to run a separate cold feed from the cold water storage tank to the pump and from the pump to the shower and a hot feed pipe from the cylinder to the pump and then the shower and should fit a surrey flange in the top of the cylinder which is a tee that allows hot water to maintain a steady flow if another hot tap is turned on in the house,
if your lucky enough that your airing cupboard is adjacent to the bathroom/shower it shouldn't be a big job, so your looking at approx £120 for a pump,£50 materials,£100 -£200 labour depending which part of the country you live,
can't comment if the airing cupboard is located elsewhere
