Noisy ticking on boiler timer

by richc » Wed May 09, 2007 11:46 am

Hi

Got an eletric boiler and the timer on it is annoying me as I can hear it ticking when trying to get to sleep!! In cupboard near bedroom.

The boiler is out of action anyway and due to be replaced but just want to stop the ticking noise.

Any advice welcome.

Cheers

Rich

Hi

I am sure that your boiler is attached to a socket or a fused spur there, just switch it off , see if that workd , if not there may be a battery back up.
Hope this has been of some help to you there

There was a backup battery. Turned off mains electric switch and took of timer cover. Found battery and the only way to remove it was to snip the red and black wires.

Should be ok. There is a seperate fuse for the boiler in the main fuse box so made sure that was out.

No ticking noise now so great nights sleep had!!

Cheers for help

Rich
