Noisy toilet flush

by DuranGO » Thu Feb 19, 2009 4:43 pm

Can anyone explain to me the possible cause of the noise when the toilet is flushed... its sounds as though there is air trapped, but I'm not sure where or how to fix it?

Can you give a better description of the noise and the timing of events when it occurs?

Thanks

So its during the flush rather than at the point the cistern completes filling? On this basis try throttling back the flow on the supply by closing the service valve between one quarter and halfway.

Let us know.

My reply assumes that it was the inlet valve vibrating as the toilet flushes and it opens to let more water in.

As an additional thought take the lid off the cistern, operate the flush and watch / listen to see what is happening. Is anything obviously vibrating?

Cheers
