old washing machine drain pipe

by scooterpuppy » Sun May 02, 2010 4:31 pm

I was wondering if it is ok to seal off the old washing machine drain pipe that is hooked up to my waste system. I installed a new one in a diferent location. It is on the 1st floor and is attatched to the 2nd floor bathroom. Will this cause any problems?

I can't see why not. Just make sure it has an airtight seal to prevent smells from escaping.

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure. Good thought about the return of any odors too.
