    Old Wiring

    We have the old wiring throuhout (red/black/earth un-sheathed)....having removed old wall lights, the replacement new ones must be earthed....but from the wall only red and black are available....no earth....can we still use the new units?

    No. Absolutely no way.
    Replace the wiring with new twin and earth or don't use the lights.

    Thanks Mal...thats what i guessed the answer would be...sadly the whole place is like it, a complete rewire is the answer....
