    ive just aquired a (council) flat where the previous occupants had started to decorate,they have used dulux trade undercoat on two of the ceilings!! when i come to emulsion will i encounter problems how can i rectify this befor i start, also on the doors, door frames and skirting they put dulux primer and undercoat on rubbed down paint work am i ok to gloss on top of this??

    your guidance and help would be grately appreciated.

    The emulsion should take on top of teh undercoat providing the undercoat covers the whole ceiling. If its in patches or only half covered then finish it off first with whatever is up there. You should be fine to paint on primer and undercoat with gloss. Take a look at our preparinmg woodwork for painting project.
