    Painting query.

I need some advice. We have tried using Homebase Kitchen and Bathroom paint to paint our utility room - over normal emulsion. Everytime we applied the paint over an area that had already been freshly painted it seemed to peel the paint off. It was almost as thought the paint was drying too quickly. We had had the central heating on would that have made a difference?

What was it that came off, the new paint or did it take the old stuff off as well. If it is the new paint then you will need to water it down a bit before using as like you say it is probably drying too quickly. If it's the old stuff then it could be that a mist coat was not put on the walls before the top coats which means that the first coat hasn't adhered to the walls properly. The heating shouldn't have made that much difference only maybe where the radiator is.
