Painting Window ledge

by AlGBarker » Sat Apr 05, 2008 1:12 am

Hi all,

We spent a life time making sure all the window ledges were neat and tidy. They looked great once painted too, but 4 months on and the joins between the wooden ledges in the bays has cracked the paint... very annoying!

If I go over the join with decorators caulk and then gloss paint will that stop it from cracking in the future?

Thanks.

no guarantees it will stop. wood is a natural product and expands and contracts with temperature and moisture fluctuations. caulk will help as its flexible.
