patio cleaning

by hopelesscase » Wed May 23, 2007 10:49 am

I have just finished laying a patio using textured concerte flags which are a very light colour.

unfortunately the idiot who game to dig out another part of the garden has already made it look very dirty by walking all over it.

I am really looking for advice on keeping this clean - It has only been a couple of days that it has been pointed with dry kiln sand - do I need to leave it a while before I use water on it to clean it ? Can I use a pressure washer ? will I need to re-sand it after cleaning.

too many questions !

If its only sand in the joints it wont matter how long you leave it until you clean the sand will still wash out. If the sand is mixed with cement it will take a week or so to go hard enough to wash down but however long you leave it you will probably lose the joints by power washing. Our advice is to leave a week (if cemented joints) and scrub down with a stiff brush.
