Permitted Development Extension Post Loft Conversion Done Under Planning

by Jenbob » Sun Sep 25, 2016 9:03 pm

Hi, we are looking to extend (2 storey rear and 1 storey side ) under permitted development. However, the property has previously had a loft conversion that was approved under a planning application. Can we still extend under permitted development given the previous work to the property as it hasn't extended the footprint of the property? Are these constraints (if any) documented anywhere?
Thanks.

There's masses of information on the Planning Portal, where they do a pretty good job of explaining what's allowed - try this link: https://www.planningportal.co.uk/info/2 ... rmission/2

This section deals specifically with Extensions: https://www.planningportal.co.uk/info/2 ... extensions

You local planning office will be able to help you, and are generally pretty efficient and helpful these days. If in doubt give them a call (on the home page of the planning portal, they have a handy search feature to find your local authority.)
