planting a new tree

hello everyone
i am having to dig up a tree[white beam] in my front garden as it's roots are coming not only through the lawn but mine and my neighbours tarmaced drive's.
I want to replace it with another tree but one with non introusive root's!!
any suggestion's I was thinking a rowan tree!!
