    Plasterboard query?

    Postby HUGHSEY » Wed Sep 24, 2008 11:50 am

Please help, i've just had a bathroom unit delivered and didn't realised how heavy it was until now! I have to now attach this to plasterboard walls and am worried it is simply going to fall off or rip the plasterboards from the walls, the unit is 16.5KG heavy without anything inside of it.

There may be a beam which i can attach it too BUT if there's not what do i need to do? I have some plasterboard fixings but i'm still worried this wont hold this weight?

    Please help

you really need to put a noggin in. remove some of the plasterboard, enough to expose the span of joists where you want the unit to go. add the extra stud then plasterboard back over.
