Plastering behind wood burner

Post by peterandalisonmoore » Wed Mar 05, 2008 9:50 am

Hi

I have a problem behind my wood burner relating to the plaster peeling due to the heat. Before I re-plaster it does anyone know of a method that will prevent it re-cracking? I have heard that if I use a lime based mortar this will cure the problem?

peterandalisonmoore,
If your stripping plaster off, i'd suggest you don't plaster it but render it instead. That's what I did with mine, never had a problem!
