PLASTERING PRICING QUESTION?????

by sillybilly74 » Sun Apr 13, 2008 11:51 pm

Hi
I am wanting to have a garage plastered out to use as a gym and am wondering what sort of price i would be looking to pay? It is 4 walls 5.5mx5m and a ceiling. I would want it boarding out first then skimming over. Just wondered what kinds of prices to expect as I am a single female and have been conned by a builder previously! Any help appreciated!

I'd suggest you get three quotes to start with.

When you do make sure you get a breakdown of material costs and labor costs.

just to give you an idea I've just arranged for a guy to come do my kitchen/diner, about half the size of your garage but the breakdown I have is around £60 for materials and £120 per day for labor.

I'd guess that to do your garage shouldn't take more than a couple of days.

if i were quoting i'd probably allow 3 days - a day to board and 2 days to skim. materials perhaps £120.00 i would expect your three estimates to fall between £500 and £600 (depending on where you are - that's what i would expect to pay inside M25)
