Plinth Lighting design

Post by Legend027 » Sun Feb 22, 2009 8:34 pm

Hi,
This is my first post so here goes...

I am in the middle of transforming my kitchen! I have come to the question of "Do I place lights in the plinth?" I have decided that I will be putting LED plinth lights in but they will work off a timer and sensor. The thing is I really dont know what type or what sort of spacings between the LED's would be best. Is it a matter of chuck in as many as you want or will that spoil the effect. Do I go with blue or white? If any body has any advice or information for me I would be most greatful.
Many thanks

Jackson

Legend027,
it's all about personal choice the number and colour you to go with, it's there for effect and not for function purposes, take snoop around some kitchen show rooms and see what catches your eye.

Hi,
Thanks for that. But is there a set or reccommended spacing between LEDs?

Not that i am aware of, it's a follow manufactures instruction and recommendation.
The thing is that it looks right and gives the desired effect.

different LEDs have different angles of effectiveness. Yout best bet would be to take some measurements of the area you are wanting to cover and then have a chat to your lighting supplier. they have some fancy computer programs for working out reccomended coverage (or possibly just a pencil and a piece of paper!) LEDs are quite directional.
