Poor Double Glazing Installation With Outside Left With no Trim

by Rangersmith » Mon Jan 15, 2018 10:17 pm

I had new DG windows installed in my flat 5 months ago but the installer (national firm) didn't finish the installation and left the outside of the windows without any trimming and exposed to the elements (flat is by the coast) over this wet and windy winter. I haven't paid for the installation and am liaising to get this finished properly but given that the foam/filler etc in the gaps will have been soaked many times, should I be asking the firm to remove the windows and/or reinstall with new filler, redo internal seals in case of damage or will these be weatherproof? Any advice gratefully received.

the foam is water resistant but not for long, if any water enters the property you are entitled to claim. the windows itself should be fine
