    Porch planning

    Postby laura-dee » Sun Jul 11, 2010 10:47 pm

    Hi!

I have a question which to you experts the answer may hopefully be straightforward, fingers crossed!

I'm looking to slightly extend the porch area on the front of my house and would like to know if this would fall under building regulations, or if planning permission would be required. I realise that from this explanation it would probably be impossible to advise and so I have taken some photos (please see the link below).

As you may be able to see from the photos I currently have a roofed porch area with a step, I would just like to fully brick this area. I do not intend to extend any further than the raised step already in place.

One final note is that this is the front of the property, the road is just behind the car in the final picture. By my estimation the distance between road and porch is 3m.

Many many thanks for any help and advice.

    L x

The best and only way is to contact your local planning and building regulation department.
