pouring foundations bit by bit
Hi - I'm just about to start putting concrete in my foundation trenches. Does anyone know if there are rules about doing this a bit at a time (over a couple of weeks) or should the whole lot be poured in one session? - Many thanks
Whole thing in one session is best - how will you know they have bonded together. If different mixes, there could be strong and weak spots.

Thanks htg - I thought as much.
I just have some issues with temporarily keeping some drains in use that sit across my trench with some big junctions almost filling the space. I want to break them up and concrete across a few weeks later. Last edited by mortarboard on Tue Nov 09, 2010 5:43 am, edited 1 time in total.
I have finished this part of my project now so in case anyone is interested there are some pictures of the foundations at http://www.tensquaremetres.com/groundwork/digging.html
