    Power for an Electric Shower

    Postby Larkum » Mon Feb 01, 2010 9:44 pm

    Hello All,

I am Planning on fitting an electric show into my home, after reading a guide it stated that I had to install the shower on its own line from the.

My Question: Would it be ok to run the shower off of the old immersion heater power source?

My Home was converted from an old back boiler system to a combi boiler by the local council a few years back, as a result my Hot water tank was removed and the power source for the immersion heater was left doing nothing.

    Thank you for your Help

    Larkum,
"Would it be ok to run the shower off of the old immersion heater power source?" No definately not. You will need either 6 or 10mm T&E depending on the model of shower you choose and the length and routing of the cable.
