by robgulwell » Tue Jan 12, 2010 11:02 am

Hi i have a power shower fitted with an surry/******* flange/valve in the hot water storage tank, however the pump still gets air on the hot water side, how can i cure this? will an auto air vent work?

No an auto vent will make no difference. To have an air intake problem when using a Surrey or E-s-s-e-x flange is really unusual! Are you sure it is fitted correctly? Which do you have, Surrey or E-s-s-ex? They are different.

A Surrey is the most common fitted into the top of the cylinder with the centre tap feeding the shower.

If this the case and you are getting air drawn down the expansion I would suggest examining the feed from the header tank to the bottom of the cylinder as it may be restricted in some way.
