pReparing to paint over Stuborn paint

    Postby Suprastone » Fri Dec 28, 2007 5:50 pm

Hi, i am currently re decorating a whole flat, the walls were covered with painted lining paper, this stripped off very easily un-veiling the worst colour purple and green walls you ever seen!!!

I stripped most of this with 4 " Razor blade scrapper, but there are some spots that wont budge!

Can these patches be sanded down just enough to provide a key and painted over?

    Thanks
    Suprastone

In short, yes but it may still show through to your new paint finish unless you use a stain blocking paint, or you might get away with a couple of coats of white or magnolia to try and tone it down before you start putting on your chosen colour.
