Preventing soot discolouration
I want to paint the brickwork of a fireplace that has been used as an open fire in the past. I can remove all the soot with a wire brush but am concerned that the chemicals will remain in the brickwork and discolour the paint. Does anyone know if there are any products that will neutralize and seal the brickwork to prevent this?
