Problem with oil fired heating boiler

by bigalni » Wed Jul 28, 2010 1:49 am

I have a household Warmflow oil fired heating boiler.
It operates with a standard single mechanical type clock timer for setting on/off times.
Recently it was ,intermittantly, failing to fire up at the required time.
Now it does not come on at all with the timer.
I can press the overide button and it fires up no problem. It is heating water and radiators perfectly.
Is the problem likely to lie with the timer..?.the system is now 18 yrs old..or will it be something internal?Any suggestions welcome.

bigalni,
Assuming you do not have to reset the lock-out button then the timer is the most likely cause of the problem.
