PVC Double Glazing beading installation
What is the right technique (and any special tools required) to fit the last piece of interior beading to a double glazed window? Because the bead is the exact length required, the mitres do not allow me to clip the beading into into the frame.
you have hopefully sorted this by now - i nearly wrote cracked it by now but if not................
i'm not a window fitter but was shown by one to always leave a long side till last, tuck in the beading at both corners first - this makes a bow shape in the beading and then push the rest of the bead in place by either brute strength or GENTLY tap in place with a plastic face mallet. To stop hitting the glass with the mallet hold it against the glass first say three or four inches awayfrom the beading and then hit the beading by sliding the malet had against the glass onto the beading
