Radiators in front room and hall dont heat up! Cold! Help

by james00j » Tue Dec 02, 2008 4:14 pm

Radiators in a rented house won't heat up. We have let the air out with a radiator key. They are full, but still dont turn on. Can someone help please! Its a combination boiler, all other radiators in the house work fine. Run out of ideas.

Landlord is not in the country. Any other questions please ask.

Thanks in advance ,

James

Balance the system by partially shutting down the lockshield valves on the hottest radiators effectively forcing the water to feed the cold rads as well as the hot. See projects section for more info.

Hi James,

Firstly have you replaced the water in the boiler displaced by the air, ie what is the pressure reading on your guage- between 1 and 1.2 is enough.
Secondly, are the valves open on the problem rads - you need to check this. If TRVs on each rad take the heads off.
