I am a leaseholder of a property built in 1967. The property is currently having problems with the rainwater soakaway, and upon investigation it was found that the original soakaway is nowhere near the current distance of 5m from the house as per the current regs. I was just wondering if anyone knows if such a regulation existed at the time the property was built & if so, whether there would be any possibility of making a claim against the freeholder if the original regs weren't adhered to ?
