re using 20amp wiring

by jamie1789 » Thu Aug 30, 2007 8:46 pm

Hi everyone,
a new newbie here.
Could a veteran answer this?
I have installed a new shower that doesn't need the existing 20 amp wiring that was used for the old electric shower.
Can I use this 20amp wiring and the ceiling pull switch that operated the old shower to install 2x50w shower lights.
Thank,s for any replies,
Jamie.

i'm not a qualified electrician, i'm a plumber, but i would say course you can as long as the circuit breakers are changed to the correct amperage. Wait and see if anyone contradicts me

Hi, yup Andy's right,
change MCB/Fuse to 6/5A and supply usable, don't forget if shower is in bathroom it must be done by registered leckie, not legal to DIY,
