removing adhesive

by bermudaby » Sun May 27, 2007 10:58 pm

I have just removed some 1970/80's heavy wallpaper which was hung on wood using a very heavy glue like adhesive. The adhesive is lumpy and black and very tough. Is there a product that will remove this 'paste'. I'll be grateful for any info.

Hi, I had a similar problem a while ago with hard heavy adhesive. After unsuccesfully trying solvents, I ended up using a Heat gun & scraper. Came off easy . See our Toolstore for a hot air gun.

Many thanks for the prompt repy. I'm not sure if a hot air gun would be suitable as the paper was on plywood and not a normal wall! I'll give it a try though.
