Removing old paint from walls

:D Hello,can anyone tell me how to remove oldpaint from walls,ive just stripped a wall back to the plaster,some of the old council paint is lurking underneath,most of it ive been able to scrape off but some is a bit stubborn and wont budge,any ideas gratefully received.......cheers :wink:
