    removing screed

    We are thinking about laying carpet in the hall but have noticed that there is screed underneath the vinyl tiles.
    Do you have to remove the screed or can you lay carpet over screed??

    No
    The screed is the leveling product. Personally I would lay the new carpet on top of a new underlay on top of the old tiles. (Unless they are loose)
