    Repair of internal block wall

    Postby alanj » Sat Nov 17, 2012 9:17 pm

Whats the best way to repair an internal block wall?

In renovating my bathroom I have taken the plaster off the wall ( most of it fell off ). Underneath is the block wall. A lot of the vertical joints appear dry, and will need mortaring, but there are also cracks in the blocks - probably from expansion, I don't think they are a worry but would like to fill them. Also there are numerous drill holes from old fixings that again I'd like to fill. Whats best for cracks and drill holes? Mortar will be difficult to get in very deeply.

Lastly one of the blocks forming the window edge has lost its corner. A triangular section approx 3 inches at the top down to zero at the bottom full block depth has gone. How can I repair this section to bring the surface back level and secure enough to plaster over? I thought maybe putting in dowels to give mortar or cement something to grip?

if you want to fill them and your going to replaster use drywall adhesive, you can also fill the missing block piece with this aswell,It sets rock hard.
