REPLACEING A FAULTY GATE VALVE

HI,I NEED TO REPLACE A FAULTY GATE VALVE AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I CAN JUST REPLACE THE MAIN BODY AND CONNECT IT TO THE EXISTING NUTS AND OLIVES. IF THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED HOW DO I REMOVE THE OLD OLIVES FROM THE PIPES,MANY THANKS REG9482

The nuts and olives will normally fit, if not the olives sometimes come off if you get hold with a pair of grips, twist and pull - alternatively cut them off with a junior hacksaw.

If using old olives with a new valve - it's normally best to put a few wraps of PTFE around the olive.
