replacing 4" inline centrifugal bathroom extractor fan

need a bit of guidance please regarding cable connections to above fan the existing cable are green/yellow, brown and blue. The fan is marked neutral=line 1 switched live= line2 permanent live=line 3. It is a pull cord switch linked with the lights.

This simply means you have bought a fan with a delay timer - so you can turn it off, and it will run for perhaps 15 to 20 mins to clear the air.

thanks for replying perry525, maybe I didnot explain myself very well what I need to know is how to connect the thing up which wire (blue brown and green/yellow) goes into either, neutral,switched live or permanent live, once again thanks for replying

thank you perry 525 for your response, I may not have expressed myself properly in my initial enquiry, basically what I need to know is how to connect the fan my existing wiring is 3 core with a blue, brown and green/yellow. the fan is marked 1 neutral 2 switched live 3 permanent live hope this is a bit clearer, thanks once again

Brown is live, blue is neutral, green/yellow is earth.
To obtain the benefit of the time lag delay - you need another live feed that by passes the light switch (if that's where you are feeding from)
I prefer to have a pull switch fitted in the delay feed so I can turn the fan off, when the light is required but not the fan.

like perry said, you sould have bought a standard fan not a timed, but it will till work.
