Replacing Downlighters 12v to 240v

    Postby Dave78 » Sat Mar 31, 2012 5:11 pm

I've currently got a number of 12v downlighters, each has there own transformer from 240v to 12v. They are currently all wired in by using loop in/out junction boxes - as far as I can see they are these http://www.screwfix.com/p/halolite-junction-box/35855?_requestid=2067578

I'm looking at replacing them for 240v downlighters as a) some of the transformers have gone (I've swapped them around, and the fault always follows the transformer and b) looking at using low energy bulbs (poss LED) that all seem easier to find running off 240v.

Now I'm wondering if I can take the output from the junction boxes and use that to connect to the 240v downlighter (in place on the transformer), so should I replace them with normal junction boxes?

    Cheers all

yes use normal small joint boxes at each point the original transformers connected to.
