replacing existing radiator with a smaller one

I need to replace an existing radiator with a small one (in a small bedroom). Any tips?

just extend the pipe work, alternatively you can get extenders that sit between the valve (either lockshield or TRV) and the actual radiator, thus filling the extra previous space.
