repositioning radiator without draining down

by mscbg » Wed Apr 09, 2008 8:35 pm

any advise please - I need to reposition an upstairs radiator running off microbore pipe. The system runs off an unvented cylinder and the pressure is reading 2 bar. Have I any options other than draining the system down and then repressurising. I only need to extend the microbore pipe some 10 cm to repositoin the rad. any suggestions appreciated

Not really you will have to drain it.

Why not drain it ? it's a pressurised system - easy to refill and airlocks simple to sort. I take it you've heard about airlocks and that's what is putting you off draining down - not a problem with pressurised systems.
